When it gets cold here in London lots of hotels and restaurants put on a festive afternoon tea so if you're visiting in November or December that is definitely a must do when you're here. I'm going to show you a few of my favorite afternoon teas that are festive themed around the city, and if you watch the end of the video you can get a special Christmas freebie from me. This year the Soho hotel that usually does a really nice traditional afternoon tea for the rest of the year have put together a G&Tea; with Monkey 47 gin. Each food item that is part of the G&T; uses one of the 47 flavors that is made up of the handcrafted gin, but it all has a bit of a Christmassy twist.
Some of the food highlights are the ginger and cinnamon cupcake with spruce frosting, there's a double chocolate orange delise, then of course there's plain and cranberry scones as well as the brie and cranberry relish on walnut bread, and the thing I want to dig into most is the mushroom and truffle arancini. One Aldwych Hotel is famous for its Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tea, which happens all year round but around Christmastime it gets a little bit of a festive twist everything in the tea is inspired by Roald Dahl's story so we've got the golden chocolate egg the Bubblegum panna cotta the homemade candy floss it's really sweet there's even a Christmas pudding at the top. Of course everything is served with your choice of tea but if you want you can make it a champagne tea, or there is the cool Charlie cocktail. The winter wonderland tea at the Chesterfield Mayfair Hotel is a very traditional classic festive tea.
You start off with a glass of mulled wine and then you get choose from one of these 18 teas that they have on offer including a special Christmas blend and dancing dragon which is a flowering tea. The best part about one of these teas is the cute little sweet treats that come along, so there is the Christmas tree chocolate and coffee pot, there's a salted caramel and chocolate parcel, Clementine and pistachio slice even a chocolate Yule Log If you Book one of those festivities let me know down in the comments of this video and if you want my free festive London guide which has lots of ideas for what to do and see in the city when it's around Christmas time click the card that's popping up here in the corner.
